Stefani is living in a culture where bronze is beautiful and swimming pools and tanning salons lure men and women. In order for her melanoma to remain in remission, Stefani is going to have to use sunscreen daily, stop using tanning beds and find new hobbies and ways to stay active that don’t put her at risk.
In 2023, the American Cancer Society estimates that 97,610 people will be diagnosed with melanoma and 7,990 people will die from melanoma. Stefani does not have to end up as another statistic.
