Rob’s “it won’t happen to me” attitude has finally caught up to him. Even though he watched his father succumb to lung cancer and his step-father fight emphysema, Rob’s disease was classic – lung cancer from smoking tobacco – it was also unnecessary.


Each year, the American Cancer Society compiles statistics on the leading causes of cancer related deaths. In 2023, statistics showed that approximately 236,740 people were diagnosed with lung cancer and 130,180 will die from lung cancer. Luckily, Rob’s lung cancer is treatable and as a member of his healthcare team, you will develop a care plan to ensure that Rob does not succumb to an early death. With the other members of Rob’s care team, use the myStation® PowerPoint presentation to develop a care plan that reviews his information while in the hospital, but will also help him become healthier and possibly reverse some of the effects of lung cancer.
