Brittany is living in a “technology-crazed” world where cell phone features – texting, chatting and web-access to social media sites – are distracting. With the advances in technology, more and more accidents are caused by careless use of these phones.


Each year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) compiles statistics on the leading causes of death and in 2020 accidents accounted for over 220,000. Accidents accounted for 42% of deaths among teens (15-19 years) in the U.S. Brittany was lucky and while she suffered a moderate traumatic brain injury and T6 spinal cord injury, she did not become a death statistic and can still recover to lead a relatively normal life. With the other members of Brittany’s care team, use the myStation® PowerPoint presentation to develop a care plan that reviews her information while in the hospital, but will also help her become healthier.
